Individual Therapy for Teens & Young Adults
Individual therapy offers a private, supportive space where teens and young adults can slow down, make sense of what they’re feeling, and begin to move forward with more clarity and confidence.
Whether your teen is struggling with anxiety, depression, low motivation, school stress, identity questions, or difficult life experiences, therapy provides a place where they don’t have to perform, explain everything perfectly, or have it all figured out.
-
Sessions are tailored to your teen’s personality, needs, and pace. Some sessions may feel like conversations, while others are more structured and skill-based.
We may work on:
Understanding emotions and reducing overwhelm
Building coping skills for anxiety, stress, and mood
Improving confidence and self-worth
Processing difficult experiences or trauma
Navigating relationships, school, and life transitions
Developing better decision-making and accountability
My approach blends evidence-based methods like CBT, DBT, EMDR, and mindfulness with a calm, real, and down-to-earth style that teens tend to connect with.
-
Many teens come in unsure or resistant at first—and that’s okay. Therapy here isn’t about forcing change. It’s about building trust, creating safety, and helping them feel understood before anything else.
Over time, that foundation allows for real growth.
-
For adolescent clients, parent involvement is thoughtful and intentional. I provide updates, guidance, and support to help you feel informed—while still protecting your teen’s sense of privacy and ownership in the process.
